Lon Wilson

President & Owner

Lon Wilson is a life-long resident of Alaska; with the exception of the time he spent receiving his formal education, Anchorage has been his home. Lon joined The Wilson Agency, LLC in 1989 to develop the firms Employee Benefits and Compensation practice. He later became a Principal in the firm in 1991 and currently serves as President.

Lon earned his B.A. degree in Business Administration (concentrations: Finance and Marketing) from the University of Washington Business School. His professional licenses include a Life and Health insurance license for the states of Alaska & Washington, as well as various Securities Licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers.

The Insurance and Financial Services industry is changing rapidly, and to stay abreast of the latest developments Lon is active in local as well as national industry organizations. He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and the Association of Health Insurance Advisors (AHIA). Lon routinely attends local, regional and national conferences dealing with current legislative issues and trends and is past President of the Alaska Association of Health Underwriters (AAHU).

Lon is involved in a number of civic organizations, he is a member of the Anchorage Downtown Rotary and he currently serves as a board member for the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, the Anchorage Economic Development Council and is a member of the Alaska Health Care Roundtable.

Lon's unique background in Finance, Accounting, Banking and Insurance provide him with the essential tools to work effectively in the field of Employee Benefits and Compensation.
